Online Notary in Kentucky
Online Notary is a way for Kentuckians to notarize their documents from the comfort of their home. Also known as a remote online notary (RON), it lets you virtually meet with a notary public.

Is Online Notary legal in Kentucky?
Yes, Online Notary is legal in the state of Kentucky. Chapter 423 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes outlines the requirements for accepting both traditional and online notaries.
Here are the laws that let Kentuckians receive online notarizations:
- The Electronic Signature in Global and National Commerce Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act confirm that electronic signatures are binding to the same degree as traditional wet ink signatures.
- Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 423.455 lets a remotely located individual appear before a notary public using communication technology.
- Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 432.310 gives online notary publics the same powers as traditional ones.
Additionally, Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 423.110 and the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution confirm that any act of notarization completed in one state is valid in all the other states. In other words, you can get your legal document notarized remotely in any U.S. state, and it will be valid in Kentucky.
How much does Online Notary cost in Kentucky?
Online Notary is $25 for the first seal and $10 for each additional seal. This includes an acknowledgment—where the parties declare they’re willing to sign the document—or jurat—where the parties swear the document and its contents are truthful.

What documents can I notarize online in Kentucky?

Documents Kentuckians cannot notarize with LawDepot’s Online Notary
Online notaries can’t notarize documents that contain sensitive information about someone’s life, such as birth, death, or marriage certificates. These are known as vital records and can only be issued by authorized government agencies.
LawDepot’s Online Notary also can’t notarize:

- Pour-Over Will
- Court-issued documents
- Certificates of Naturalization
- Certificates of Citizenship
- Declarations of Intention to Become a Citizen
- Documents for use outside of the U.S.
